25th March 2024: Alan and Alyson Hopkin have been delivering for Evri for over 17 years and are well-known across the villages of the Vale of Glamorgan. Every year the couple capture everyone’s hearts with their seasonal antics, and this year is no different as they deliver more ‘egg-citing’ moments in their local community.

In the run up to Easter, the dedicated couple have decided to do something ‘egg-straordinary’. Whilst Alyson drives Alan will deliver, dressed as the Easter Bunny.

‘Hoppy’ to talk about why they were doing this, they said, “This is the first year we’ve done this, we’re going to head out on Good Friday and Saturday to deliver parcels with Alan dressed head to toe as the Easter Bunny. We wanted to do it last year but couldn’t in the end, so we can’t wait. We’ve even got a basket to put chocolate eggs in for the little ones.”

One local resident said, “We love them both and look forward to the holidays, seeing Alan, and his outfits. They make so many people smile – the kids love to see him on his round and I’m sure they will be looking forward to seeing the Easter Bunny.”

The plot ‘chickens’, another local resident told us, “It’s not just Easter they do this, at Halloween, Alan will always be dressed scarily and at Christmas he can be seen running around dressed as Santa with a sack full of parcels over his shoulder.  Alan and Alyson are superb couriers, and we feel lucky to have them in the Vale.”

When asked why they do it, they said, “It’s just a bit of fun, but people look forward to seeing it and it’s something different for us to look forward to as well. Of course, the children love it, but so do a lot of our older customers who don’t see many people, we often stop and have a quick chat with them on the doorstep, it really cheers them up and gives them some joy. Because we’ve been doing this so long now, a lot of these customer have become friends, who wouldn’t want to make a friend laugh or smile.”

Alan went onto to say, “People trust us so much, just a couple of weeks ago someone asked to help rescue a parcel from that was delivered incorrectly by another company that was needed for an anniversary. They were so happy we were able to help they’ve been baking us cakes ever since.”
